WORKS OF MONUMENTAL IMPORT
Coming soon! England, 2068. Geoffrey Pembroke is bred for war and has the scars to prove it. The English nobility have pressed him into service as a key piece of their grinding battle with the rebels who have plagued England for a generation.
When Geoffrey’s father, the powerful Marquess of Pembroke, orders Geoffrey home from the front lines, he knows the nobility has found a solution. That solution comes in the form of a corner of the Papal Banner – – a banner gifted to William the Conqueror by the Pope and which William carried into battle when he conquered England. Something, or someone, has infused the Banner with a future technology that offers tactical supremacy in battle and the nobility wants it to win their own war.
They send Geoffrey and a group of cohorts back to 1069 to retrieve it. They are dropped into York, the site of the final clashes between William the Conqueror and the rebels to prove his mettle. At the same time, Geoffrey finds himself accosted by supernatural beings in eerie physical forms – – his deceased mother, William the Conqueror’s closest sectarian advisor, an alluring young woman – – each demanding his fealty in resolving an unexplained temporal catastrophe.
Geoffrey finds himself trapped between his duties, William the Conqueror, and time, with nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.
